Puzzled

Stumbled across this strange little game the other night and I'm still trying to figure it out.

If anyone can tell me what to do I'd be grateful! I've managed to get the little guy to run to the cannon then blow a few things up but that's about it. I think I got too distracted once I found out you can get the little matchstick men fighting.
