Giving it your all

Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100%?
We have all been to those meetings where someone wants over 100%.
How about achieving 103%?
Here's a little math that might prove helpful.

What makes life 100%?

If:
A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z is represented as:
1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26.

Then:
H A R D W O R K
8 1 18 4 23 15 18 11 = 98%

K N O W L E D G E
11 14 15 23 12 5 4 7 = 96%

A T T I T U D E
1 20 20 9 20 21 4 5 = 100%

And,
B U L L S H I T
2 21 12 12 19 8 9 20 = 103%

So it seems that hard work and knowledge will get you close, attitude will get you there and bullshit will put you over the top.

But look how far ass kissing will take you.

So the next time someone asks you to give more than 100% you know exactly what is required of you.

This post in pardicular was very interesting, I never really thought about it this way, but now it makes total sense. :)

You mentioned on my blog about wanting to see Matt Good live. I know that he has mentioned before that London is one of his favorite cities, and would love nothing more than to play a concert there. I just don't think there is a large enough fan base there, especially since he gets no marketing there, and the record company doesn't seem to want to change that. So even though he may want to play there, it will probably never happen, I guess you just have to visit Canada. :)

You mentioned in one of your earlier posts about the name of your blog and how your blog isn't political. Don't worry about that, I'm also on Mask of Anarchy's blogroll, and my blog is not all political, as you may have already seen. Even with a name like Smash The Machine, I mostly talk about nonsense and personal crap. So my advice is to not worry about the title of your blog dictating what you talk about, just talk about whatever you want, and the readers will follow. :)

I went to Canada a few years back & did a tour of part of the Rockies. I absolutely fell in love with Banff while I was there and I'm determined to go back one day.

There was a restuarant in Banff called 'Wild Bill's Legendary Saloon' named after Bill Peyto a famous trail man in the area from the late 1800s, early 1900s. The restaurant was great, not just because 'Wild Bill Peyto' was my great, great, great uncle (my grandma could remember him visiting and bringing apples) but also because it's the only public place I've been where a Black Lab song has been played while I was in there.

However, when I got home from that holiday I looked on the website for the 'Wild Bill Saloon' a week or so later to find it was going to be hosting a Matthew Good gig.

Talk about bad timing. Next time I'll try and plan my holiday a little better!
