Very definately not. And let's not confuse being a romantic with being a poet. Byron would have stuck it in mud if he'd have thought it would wriggle.
Although he did have a pet badger so he couldn't have been all bad.
And before anyone asks, there's no record of Byron ever having had a pet clown.
The Welshman could be another matter.

Finally a man who recognises that, for them, lesbians are unobtainable. That's rarer than you'd think!
